We
believe there is one God of infinite holiness, wisdom,
power, love and grace; eternally existent in three persons, God the
Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (Matt.
28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).
We
believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative
Word of God - it is the basis for all spiritual teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness, and able to give the wisdom needed for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (Psalm 119; Heb. 4:12; 2
Tim 3:15-17; 2 Pet 1:19-21).
We believe that God created all things good, and people
in His image but human sin has marred that creation and distorted
that image resulting in suffering, conflict and death (Gen.
1-3; Ps. 121:2, 124:8, 134:3; Rom.5:12).
We
believe in salvation by faith in Christ Jesus, through God's grace which brings repentance (turning from sin to Jesus Christ as Lord) and regeneration by the Holy Spirit (John
1:12-13; 3:3; John 3:16-19, Acts 2:38, Eph. 1:7, Rom. 3:23-26; 1 Pet. 1:23).
We
believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1, Isaiah 9:6), in His virgin birth (Matt.1:18-22, Luke 1:26-35), in His humanity (Acts
2:22-23), in His sinless life (Heb. 4:15),
in His miracles (John 10:32), in His vicarious
and atoning death through His shed blood (Rom.3:25), in His bodily resurrection (Math. 5-10,Mark 16:9-14),
in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark
16:19) and in the blessed hope of His personal future return
to this earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11, 1Thes.
4:16-18, Rev.19:11 - 20:4).
We
believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by
whose sanctifying power the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Gal.5:16,22-25) and by whose indwelling and
gifts every Christian is enabled to minister to God in worship and
others in service (John 4:24,Luke 11:13, John 15:16-17,26,
16:7-15, Acts 2:4, Rom. 12:6-8, 1 Cor. 12:4-11, 28-3 Eph.4:11).
We believe in
the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, one to everlasting
life, the other to everlasting damnation (Dan. 12:2; John 11:25-26; Rev 21:7,8).
We
believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our
Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:20-23, Eph. 4:3-6).
